Success @ First Annual FPPL Com-Con!
The day started off like any other...but then, the com-con folk started to come out in full cosplay garb.

Artist D.G. Gibbons showed up to give demos and advice about creating your own serial art.

Excellent snacks (complete with ramen and chocolate icing -- not together, of course), and general merrymaking.

But like all good things, it, too, had to come to an end.
Don't worry -- there's always next year!

Scrappin'
This Thursday at 5 p.m., you can help us make history by coming to our first YA Scrapbooking Session. Help us create a scrapbook of events that have taken place at Forest Park, and of the things that happened in the wider world. For example, Summer Reading Sign Up. Or the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency of the United States. Or, dare we say it, the movie version of Twilight?!? Remember: that's Thursday, June 11th, at 5 p.m. Come for the pizza, stay for the fun.
And we're off!
FPPL's Summer Reading Program has officially kicked off! Lots of people already signed up at our kick off party on Saturday, but it's not too late to join up if you missed that. For teens, 200 pages equals 1 raffle ticket -- come on and get yourself registered. You can earn raffle tickets in other ways -- by writing reviews, attending events and finding the ever elusive orange book. Come on in and get started -- when you register, you'll create a page to add to our SRP station. You don't want to be left out of that now...

Express Yourself Starts Tomorrow
Do you remember these works of art? This summer you have the chance to recreate famous works of art on these windows with our Mural Madness event on Monday. But let's not get ahead of ourselves! Don't forget that this is just one of our fun summer reading events this summer, and the whole program kicks off tomorrow on Saturday, June 6.
Come to the library to sign up for our teen reading program starting tomorrow. Sign up will run from 12-4, or if you miss it--come by any time between then and July 18 to get started.
