Book Into a Movie: Charlie St. Cloud

Zac Efron will be returning to the big screen next week as Charlie St. Cloud.  While he won't be singing or dancing  in this movie (and no Vanessa either!), it looks like a great movie.  Check out the trailer above.  You still have the chance to read the book before the movie too.  The title is The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood.  This is a great book for those of you who liked The Notebook and The Last Song.  Stop by the YS Desk for more great book/movie suggestions!

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey

Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancé. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius’s soul from eternal destruction

Looking for a New Book?

If you feel like you have read everything in the library, have no fear. There are some great new releases heading to the library soon. Browse these books below and use your online account or stop by the Youth Services desk to put any of these titles on hold.

This is an essential read for all Twilight fans. This is the riveting story of Bree Tanner and the newborn army during the events that happen during Eclipse. Find out what was going on on the other side of the vampire war. Even though we know how it all ends up, it is great to get back into Bella's world.

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

The follow up to Shiver finds Grace and Sam continuing to fight to be together. Grace must work hard to keep her dangerous new secret, while Sam has to figure out a way to deal with his past while planning for his future. And the wolf pack continues to provide more harrowing drama. If you like supernatural romances, this is definitely a must read.

The Fire Opal by Regina McBride

Maeve has become caretaker to her catatonic mother while her father and brothers are away fighting to free Ireland from England's tyrannical rule. When her younger sister succumbs to the same strange illness that plagues their mother, Maeve becomes desperate to save them. She embarks on a dangerous journey, sailing to the frigid home of the corpse goddess Uria, who harvests ghost souls for food and who has stolen the fire opal that belongs to earth goddess Danu.

Poisoned Honey by Beatrice Gormley

Mariamne is vulnerable girl who wants to be in control of her own destiny, but soon learns she has no such power. She must do as her father and brother see fit, and when tragedy strikes, Mari must marry a man she does not love and enter a household where she is not welcome, for the good of her family. But she discovers a way to gain power through the occult. This gripping portrait of one of the most misunderstood and controversial Biblical figures is the story of a young girl’s path through manipulation and possession, madness and healing, to a man who will change the world forever.
